Trick or Treaters 2023

Not the best weather for trick or treating. We had a good 2 to 3 inches of snow earlier in the day, and it was 35°F during trick or treating hours. Even so, twelve hearty souls (and a number of accompanying adults) ventured out. This is the lowest turnout I’ve had since I started keeping track.[1]

There were more trick or treaters out, but apparently we’re on the wrong side of the street so I just watched the walk by. This year we were giving out some fun light-up spring-powered spinning tops in addition to our normal slap bracelets and bouncy balls. I spent most of my time standing under a heat lamp and playing with the tops; they’re a lot of fun, but I wish they were more durable.

  1. This year would have tied 2008, but Halloween was a Friday that year so I gave out candy until 9pm, and got 3 more; but it was 12 at the 8pm cutoff ↩︎
